Summary

This document is an email chain from August 2019 detailing the FBI's attempt, via UK Metropolitan Police, to interview a female witness (DOB May 1973) regarding the Jeffrey Epstein investigation. While initially willing to cooperate on August 16th, the witness retracted her offer on August 19th following Epstein's death, citing fears for her safety and concerns that her name would appear on Twitter. The document includes a background check on the witness revealing no criminal trace, though a 2013 report of 'suspicious circumstances' exists in police databases.

Hi [REDACTED],
As per our telephone conversation earlier, I can confirm that I made contact with [REDACTED] via her mobile on Friday 16th August 2019. At that time, she confirmed that she was willing to cooperate in the capacity as a witness but she wanted to know if a lawyer could be provided and if a list of questions could be made available in advance.
I then received two emails from [REDACTED] on Friday 16th August 2019; in the first email she asked if it would be possible for her to have a senior community support officer with her at the proposed meeting with the FBI. In the second email [REDACTED] stated that she did not need a lawyer. She explained that she got very uncomfortable as she has never been part of an investigation before and this case has been very ugly. She just wants to assist to the best of her abilities. If there would be a lawyer in the room, then that would be great and if not, then she was fine with that too.
Today, Monday 19th August 2019 I received a telephone call from [REDACTED] via her mobile. She advised me that she was no longer willing to assist the FBI for a number of reasons; Jeffrey Epstein is dead, she has to think about her own safety, there is no added value for the FBI speaking to her and she has concerns over confidentiality, fearing that her name will land up on Twitter, like others involved.
